چکیده

Stimulation of the sympathetic nerve endings, after paralysis of the vagus, accelerates the transmission of the excitatory process in the dog's auricle. Following the functional exclusion of the vagus ergotamine slows the rate of the sinus rhythm, depresses A-V conduction, and delays the transmission of the excitatory process in the auricle. The relation of the sympathetic and parasympathetic nerves in the control of the cardiac rhythm is discussed.

A novel isolated dual perfusion/superfusion heart model for physiological and pharmacological evaluation of mammalian heart preparations

Abstract Introduction: Isolated perfused heart models such as perfusion and superfusion are commonly used for mammalian heart research. However, there are several fundamental limitations in the current techniques. In perfusion model, a suitable cannula is connected to the aorta and the perfusion is retrogradely performed. But, electrode displacement is a potential unwanted event resulted fr...

A neural mass model of CA1-CA3 neural network and studying sharp wave ripples

We spend one third of our life in sleep. The interesting point about the sleep is that the neurons are not quiescent during sleeping and they show synchronous oscillations at different regions. Especially sharp wave ripples are observed in the hippocampus. Here, we propose a simple phenomenological neural mass model for the CA1-CA3 network of the hippocampus considering the spike frequency adap...

تأثیــر نیکــل بر مسدود کردن جریان یونــی گذرای کلسیمــی سلولهای گــره سینوسی ـ دهلیزی دست نخورده و سالم قلب خرگوش

The mammalian sino-atrial node is not a uniform tissue in histological and electrophysiological terms. The differences in ionic currents underlying the regional differences in electrial activity are only just beginning to be understood. One of the ionic currents it is thought to play a role in the center of sino-atrial node for action potential upstroke should be transient Ca+2 current ...

The Interaction of Mind and Heart in the Process of Self-Flourishing in the Interpretive Study of the Verse 46 of Hajj

The heart is a part of the body that has a physical connection with the human soul and is a tool in the service of the soul to communicate with the incorporeal mind, which in the human body is done by the brain. The result of this connection either appears in human perception and cognition or as a stimulus for the action to be performed by the soul. In the first case, it causes cognition either...
